Supa Undergravel Filter
Traditional plastic undergravel filter, includes airstone, uplift tube and airline!
This should be placed into a bare aquarium and the gravel poured onto it. An aquarium air pump (this will need to be purchased separately), is used to create air bubbles which rise up the uplift tube, this drives the water up the tube, and pulls the water down through the gravel bed creating a continuous water circulation. The gravel bed then will act as a filter media and once colonies of bacteria have developed in the gravel, this will mechanically and biologically filter the aquarium water!
These are very cheap, robust and reliable filters, all you will need to do is a periodic gravel clean, combined with a partial water change to keep the filter working effectively!
You will need an air pump to drive the filter, and we would also recommend you purchase a gravel cleaner, to siphon unwanted debris periodically from the gravel bed!
